Pauline Simpson —

Week Eight

We were all very proud of our kapa haka students this week as we watched their Polyfest performance at the Edgar Centre. The performance was a culmination of many weeks of hard work for both the students and their teachers. The opportunity to perform on stage is a real highlight for everyone, and the joy it brought to those watching was fantastic to see.

Today was dress rehearsal day for our school production, and it was great to see the show really coming together. Each class has had their photo taken in their costume today and these photos will be available on the school website after the production. We are very fortunate to have Simon White taking our official photos on production night at the Regent Theatre again. Simon’s photos will also be available on the school website. This will allow all of our audience to sit back and enjoy the show without the need to take any personal photos.

Mihi Whakatau

On Wednesday our school hosted a group of Principals from across Dunedin for a hui. Our te reo extension group and our kapa haka group welcomed the Principals into the school with a Mihi Whakatau. This was a great experience for our students and I was incredibly proud of the effort they put into everything. They were a real credit to the school and I have had really positive feedback about the occasion.

I wish you all a safe and happy weekend.
