Principal's Report

Pauline SimpsonFebruary 22, 2024

It has been great to see students enjoying their classroom learning this week, along with plenty of opportunities to be active and involved. Our Year 6 students enjoyed their cycle skills workshops and there are lots of children who are excited about being part of this Sunday’s Tryathlon at school. This will be a fantastic community event and we hope to see you all there. There will be plenty of stalls running alongside the Tryathlon event, so it’s a great place to grab a bite to eat, a plant for your garden or some delicious baking.

The students all enjoyed Wednesday’s El Gregoe magic show in the hall with its message of caring and kindness. It’s great to have visiting performers like this in our school, and we thank you again for supporting this through your school contribution donation. A reminder that you can still access the 10% discount for this year’s contribution if you have paid it in full by Friday 1 March.

Move It March

Our school will be participating in “Move It March” again this year. The Dunedin City Council have organised a Whānau Challenge to go alongside the students “Walk or Wheel to School” challenge. Cards for the whānau challenge are available from the school office and all students will be given a personal challenge card for Move It March next week.

We will be running a Walking School Bus on 3 Fridays in March - 8 March, 15 March and 22 March. More information about the routes and times for this will be sent out closer to the time. We would love to have parents and whānau members join the students as they walk or cycle to school on these Fridays.

At assembly today the school was presented with a $100.00 voucher to be redeemed at Otago Sports depot to recognise our participation in Move It March.

Highlanders

A huge thank you to Nasi Manu and the crew from the Highlanders who have donated us a set of sport uniforms.
