Education Review Office Visit

On Tuesday we hosted two researchers from the Education Review Office who were investigating how schools are successfully implementing a structured approach to literacy. We were very proud of our children, teachers and parents who talked with the ERO researchers about our Structured Literacy journey. A huge thank you to the parents who gave up some time on Tuesday afternoon to meet with the ERO team. We really appreciate your support.

Swimming

Our Māhuri team were very excited about starting their swimming lessons this week. Thank you to the parents who have come along and helped our younger children with getting ready for swimming and changing back into their school uniform afterwards. We really appreciate being able to offer professional swimming lessons to all our students with the payment of your school contribution donation. Road Patrol

Today Constable Greer came along to school to train our Year 5 students who are keen to be part of the road patrol team next year. We are very lucky to have so many students who are willing to volunteer for this important role that helps keep students safe when they cross Highcliff Road each morning and afternoon. A big thank you to Constable Greer for all his mahi with the school this year.

Te Reo Extension Class

Our Te Reo Māori class shared some of their learning on Wednesday evening with whānau. It was a great opportunity for them to celebrate their learning journey this year with family members. Thank you to everyone who was able to come along with their children.

Year 6 Museum Trip

Year 6 were lucky enough to have a trip to Tūhura Otago Museum this week. Initially a live stream had been organised with a scientist at Antarctica, but due to communication issues at the base it was cancelled. We still had a brilliant time though! A planetarium show linked with our topic focus on the solar system, a visit to the Butterfly House as well as some hands-on activities at the Science Centre.
