Week Six
A huge thank you to everyone for returning readathon forms and money to school. We really appreciate your support with this fundraiser and we are delighted to say that we have raised $6,176.90 to date. This money will be put towards reading resources for classrooms and new books for the school library. The prize draw will take place next week at assembly.
Our Year 6 students all participated in a Clued Up Kids programme run by Emergency Management Otago this week. Clued Up Kids aims to boost confidence and cultivate life skills by immersing students in practical, interactive safety scenarios. The Year 6 students spent Thursday morning rotating in groups through various stations facilitated by emergency services and safety agencies. This was a great addition to our school health programme and an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their awareness of personal safety while also fostering a sense of good citizenship.
A number of senior students have also been involved in a Dunedin rippa rugby tournament this week, with some excellent results. This was the first time Andersons Bay has competed in this tournament and we hope to be able to offer more opportunities like this to our students in the future.
All classes are busy practising for the school production in Week 10. Tickets are now on sale at the Regent Theatre, so make sure you get your tickets organised. Preschoolers and our school students are free.
Have a lovely weekend.
Ngā mihi nui
