Recipe: Coffee and Walnut Slice

Essie's Coffee and Walnut Slice
Ingredients:
150g of salted butter
2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
1 egg
¾ cup of brown sugar
1 ¼ cups of plain flour
1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder
1 tablespoon of instant coffee
½ cup of walnuts (whole or halves)
Coffee icing
Method:
Have a saucepan that will hold all of the ingredients.
Melt the butter in the pan.
Take the pan of the heat and add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla essence.
Mix all of the ingredients.
Sift the flour, baking powder and coffee into the mixture.
Add and mix in the walnuts.
Line an 18 x 28cm slice tin with baking paper.
Add the mixture to the tin.
Bake at 190C for 20 to 25 minutes.
Leave to cool. Then cover with coffee icing and cut to serve.
