Bishop of Hull calls Diocese to pivot from nominalism and live 'Jesus shaped lives'
Bishop Eleanor Sanderson spoke at the Living Faith Conference in October on "What is Discipleship and why now?"
Bishop Eleanor Sanderson's opening address at the 'Living Faith' conference on 26 October 2024 outlined what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. She urges us to pivot away from nominalism in our parishes and urges us instead to lives of intention, purpose and wholehearted commitment to Jesus. Bishop Eleanor goes on to define discipleship as living a 'Jesus shaped life.' She outlines a process by which we are all called to become 'Jesus shaped' in the way we love people and build communities of love land acceptance.
