We pray for... "E inoi ana tātou mō..."

Anglican Centre Staff —

This week, we pray for those who preparing for Confirmation; for those who have been affected by the recent flooding in Nelson and in New South Wales; for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one, and for the regeneration of our Diocese.

Dear God, we thank you for all that is good in our lives, and for your great love and care.

Lord, You send out Your Spirit to touch the hearts of all people, so that they may believe in You and in Jesus whom You sent. Look kindly on all candidates for Confirmation as they listen to Your voice. Open their hearts to Your Spirit and bring to fulfillment the good work that You have begun in them. Deepen our faith in the Gospel and help us to pass it on to them by our example.

Almighty God, we lift up to you all those affected by the recent flooding in Nelson and in New South Wales. Grant them comfort, strength, and resilience as they face this difficult time. May they find solace in your presence and the support of their community. Bless those who are working tirelessly to provide aid and assistance, and guide them with wisdom and compassion. May your love and peace surround all those who are suffering, and may your grace lead them towards a brighter future.

Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can destroy the good that has been given. May their memories become joyful, their days enriched with friendship, and their lives encircled by your love.

We pray for the regeneration of our Diocese:

As the kōtuku gently rests upon the tree,

Come and rest upon us, Holy Spirit as

we pray for the regeneration of our Diocese.

Everliving God,

through Your Spirit You constantly renew the whole creation;

bring regeneration to your Diocese of Christchurch,

grant us courage to grow disciples of Jesus,

give us vision to reach young people and their families,

and strengthen us to create vibrant communities of faith.

We ask these prayers in Jesus' name, through the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
