Cults, Christianity, and Conversations

Laidlaw College —

Saturday, 25 Nov 2023, 10am-12pm, Mt Albert Baptist, Auckland.

The Shincheonji cult is incredibly active in New Zealand, now publicly targeting many church ministers and their congregations.

Join us at Mt Albert Baptist for this event as we discuss Shincheonji practices and approaches to targeting Christians. If you’re in the Auckland area we encourage you to come along, bring your leadership team, and invite congregation members. Register by 22 November.

Interested in hosting one of these events at your church? Please get in touch with the event organiser, Terry Pouono (tpouono@laidlaw.ac.nz).

Do you want to know more about Shincheonji? Come and hear from a Christian church pastor, a former NZ Shincheonji member, and a Korean Christian who all have background knowledge of this dangerous cult. Find out about its practices and approaches to targeting Christians. This is a great opportunity for our church communities to come together and dialogue as the Body of Christ.

Lunch will be provided. This event is free of charge.

Hosted by Rev. Dr Imoa Setefano and Dr Terry Pouono, Laidlaw College, with panellists including Ps Steve Worsley and Jeena Song.
