Christchurch Diocesan AAW invites you to attend the following Social Concerns & Overseas & Outreach Gathering

10:00am Social Concerns speaker, Manager Karon Storr, from The Christchurch Aunties. Karon has a corporate and NGO background in New Zealand and overseas and has taken the reins as Manager of the Christchurch Aunties, since May 2022. The Christchurch Aunties is a network of over six thousand people helping women and children in Christchurch, Ashburton, and the Waimakariri and Selwyn Districts who have experienced family violence and vulnerability and who are at risk.

11:15am Overseas & Outreach Speaker, Dot Muir (flown up from Invercargill) to speak about her involvement with Rwenzori Special Needs Foundation, Uganda, which works with disabled children.
Dot helped establish the foundation during a 2010 trip to the country with aid organisation Tear Fund. An aid worker on the trip suggested the idea when Dot described the work she did in New Zealand with disabled children, and she soon found herself agreeing to apply her skills in the African nation.
