When I was hungry, you fed me.
Every Friday at 3.30pm, St Barnabas Woodend-Pegasus is bustling with people gathering for a blessing before collecting free food.
Every Friday at 3:30 pm, St Barnabas Woodend-Pegasus is bustling with people gathering for a blessing before receiving their coloured peg—our simple ordering system—and collecting great food that would otherwise go to waste.
Over two years, this ministry has become a welcoming, diverse community where people experience the practical love of Jesus. Some even return on Sundays to learn more. Prayer is shared, and recently, we witnessed Jesus heal someone's back.
Many of our volunteers first came for help themselves, and now they serve others. Our main food source, Satisfy Food Rescue, has been generous, but at times, we’ve had to pause due to supply shortages.
We're asking for help. If you know a food business with surplus stock—damaged packaging, near best-before dates, or imperfect produce—we'd love to partner with them to keep feeding our community.
