The Bishops' Portraits

If you have been upstairs in the Anglican Centre recently, you will have noticed the Bishops' Portraits on the far wall.

All the portraits are undergoing conservation work as finances permit. This involves them spending time at a conservator and then either having the glass replaced with Museum Perspex or being protected for the first time.

The space that is available means that only three portraits are able to be hung at the same time, and it is important that due to the effect that light can have on them, that they are rotated.

Jane Teal, our Archivist has prepared a folder that is available close to the portraits that shows those portraits that are not on display at any one time, as well as some biographical information about the Christchurch Anglican Bishops.
