Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage

Come, walk prayerfully in solidarity with the people of Gaza on Sat, 9 March 2024.

Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage

This Lent, in over 102 cities around the world, Christians alongside their Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters, are walking the length of Gaza to prayerfully map it onto our own cities as we journey in prayerful solidarity.

Join us, in full or in part, on Saturday, 9 March as we walk, cycle, or roll the 36km from Rangiora to Central Christchurch - mirroring the journey families are taking from Gaza City to Rafah to escape bombardment.

Part prayer-walk, part protest, part fundraiser; we’ll be stopping on the way to engage in prayer and other reflective responses. The Pilgrimage is also a chance to fundraise towards healthcare, development support, and peace-building in the Holy Land.

As the horror in Gaza reaches a new intensity, we're reminded of the urgency and importance of our work for peace and justice. Our prayer is that as we reflect on the passion of Jesus and his journey to the cross this Lent, we might deepen our solidarity with what our Palestinian sisters and brothers are experiencing daily.
