Y11s Take on the Rapids of Ōkere Falls

AC —

Our Y11 students experienced the adrenaline rush of white-water rafting last month.

Eighty students negotiated their way down the Grade 5 Kaituna River (Ōkere Falls), with some capsizes along the way. They also planted manuka trees as part of Rotorua Rafting’s local regeneration project. It’s been a long-awaited river trip. The year group was scheduled to go river rafting last November as part of their Y10 camp which was ultimately cancelled due to COVID 11.
