Local Rotary Bankrolls Road Safety Course for Aquinas Seniors

Aquinas College —

BOP Rotary Clubs have put senior Aquinas students on course for safer road use by subsidising their participation in a national road safety education programme.

Year 12 and 13 students last month attended a two-day RYDA course to help them gain the skills and understanding of being responsible and safe road users, whether as a passenger or drivers.

Students engaged in practical demonstrations, real-life narratives and interactive role-play on six topics including speed and stopping distance and key risk areas for young drivers and passengers. They also had the unique chance to speak to a crash survivor about the event that changed her life.

The course was free for students thanks to the BOP Rotary contribution and top-up by Aquinas College.
