Year 8 students take note, the Y9 Hilary Outdoor Education Camp (HOEC) is an adventure not to be missed! Sixty Y9 students braved the mighty outdoors in the stunning Tongariro National Park for HOEC this year, undeterred by the Central Plateau’s winter temperatures.
They experienced a range of adrenalin-pumping and character-building activities including caving, tramping, a high ropes course, flying fox, kayaking, and Canadian canoeing among others.
And the July weather didn’t stop them from having an incredible overnight experience sleeping either in a tent, under a fly, or in huts throughout the region.
