Aquinas Climber Sets Breaks NZ Speed Record

Aquinas College —

We love celebrating the accomplishments of our Aquinas rangatahi. Today, we’re taking our hat off to Y13 climbing speedster Antony Death.

At the recent Youth World Climbing Champs in Dallas, he broke two NZ speed climbing records and set a new PB - taking just 8:02 seconds to scale up a 15m wall with 5 degree overhang. More than 450 climbers from around the world took part. Antony finished a fantastic 27th in his U18 Youth A speed climbing category.

Antony and his Y11 brother Kieran are part of the NZ youth team competing in the Noumea Nationals next month. Well done.
