Familiar Face at the Helm of Aquinas Sport

Aquinas College —

Aquinas is proud to announce Caitlin Tarr as the college’s new Director of Sport, the first woman to ever hold the job.

Well-known and liked by many in the Aquinas whānau, Mrs Tarr has served as the Sports Coordinator for the past five years. She replaces long-standing Director of Sport, Bill Kite, who retired last year. And she has plans to mix up the status quo.

Her goals for 2023 include restarting school exchanges derailed by COVID, introducing Intra-House lunchtime challenges, hosting parent workshops, and crafting a strategic plan for sports. Mrs Tarr, together with Mrs Park, has also initiated Sports Camps for Year 7, 8 and 9/10 students, and is looking at a new camp for Year 9’s... more information coming on this soon!

To parents, Mrs Tarr asks them to ensure the school has their latest email address. Also, a reminder that Winter Sports Registrations open soon - and it’s important to register online before the deadline. Registrations received after the cut-off will be accepted depending on availability, so don’t miss out.

Her message to students is to listen to the notices to avoid missing important information on upcoming events. Get involved, she says, try something new, and let her know if you’re keen to try a sport that Aquinas doesn’t currently offer.
