Swimming Sports: A Day of Camaraderie As Well As Prowess

Aquinas College —

Whānau, if you haven’t been to an Aquinas Year 7 & 8 swimming sports day, you really should.

Yes, there are fantastically talented and dedicated swimmers who tear up the pool. But the real highlight is 100-odd students cheering for the non-swimmers — the ones using flutter boards or doggy-paddle to reach the finish line. It’s wonderfully Aquinas, and brilliant to watch.

Participation, regardless of ability, is what counted when our Yr 7 & 8 students took to the water at Greerton Aquatic Centre last month. In the end, Browne House claimed top honours, followed by Heni Pore, Foy, and then Cluny. 

And while camaraderie was key, there were some amazing individual performances. Our congratulations to the following champions:
