A round of applause for three Aquinas Chemistry students who have qualified for a chance to represent NZ at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad.

Eric Shin, Ethan Peters and Brian Liu (all Year 11) are among the 80-100 NZ students chosen to compete in the next selection round following their stellar results in a recent two-hour Olympiad exam. Eric gained a silver award and both Ethan and Brian received merit awards.

They will sit another Olympiad exam in March to try to win a spot in the 30-member Olympiad training group, which will then be whittled down to a team of just four students. They will represent NZ at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad in Switzerland next July. Fingers crossed boys!
