Cricket Team Set For Gillette Cup Match This Thursday Following Recent Win

Aquinas College —

Aquinas’ 1st XI Boys delivered a cracker of an innings in its recent pre-season practice match against St John’s College of Hamilton. The home-game victory is an encouraging warm-up for the Gillette Cup which kicks off this week.

Bolstered by Daniel Coster’s impressive 99 runs, Tayte Marsh's 97 and Ben Parlane on 67, Aquinas put up a daunting 333 for St John’s to catch during the Feb. 16 game — and came away with the win!

The team will now take on Bethlehem College in its first Gillette Cup match this Thursday (March 2) at 12.30 p.m. at Aquinas. The national secondary school boys' cricket competition sees teams progress on a knock-out basis. Go Aquinas!
