AC Students Again Excel at NCEA

Aquinas College —

Aquinas students have once again achieved ‘truly outstanding’ NCEA results, including the college’s best-ever University Entrance pass rates. While national NCEA results declined, Aquinas pass and endorsement marks improved, eclipsing nationwide and similar-profile schools' rates.

We are incredibly proud, and congratulate each individual for their hard work and success! Applause also to our fantastic teaching staff for their commitment and support of our students.

The just-released 2023 NCEA results (available below) show that almost all Aquinas students who sat NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 passed. Moreover, more than half gained merit and excellence endorsements which is significantly higher than that achieved nationally and in similar schools.

Added to this, 91 per cent of AC students gained University Entrance — a nine percentage point increase on 2022.

“Across the board, our results are wonderful but the University Entrance rates are truly outstanding,” Mr Dalton noted.

The results yet again bolster the fact that boys do exceptionally well at Aquinas. In each category, from Level 1 through to UE, Aquinas boys vastly outperformed their peers and were just short of the impressive marks again attained by Aquinas girls.

Congratulations to all. AC Pride!

Explanatory Note: Students must obtain 50-plus Excellence credits to endorse with Excellence. To endorse with Merit, they must attain 50-plus Merit and Excellence credits.
