Aquinas Students' NCEA and UE Results Eclipse National and Local Pass Rates

Aquinas College —

We recently shared the outstanding 2022 NCEA results of Aquinas students, but did you know they achieved excellent endorsements at a far higher rate than their national and local peers?

The accomplishment is even more outstanding given the disrupted school year students experienced in 2022. Achieving an Endorsement isn’t easy. Students must obtain 50-plus Excellence credits to endorse with Excellence.

In particular, Aquinas girls earned Excellent or Merit Endorsements at a far higher rate than girls nationwide. At least 40 per cent of Aquinas girls who passed NCEA Levels 1, 2 or 3 endorsed with Excellence. (To endorse with Merit, students must attain 50-plus Merit and Excellence credits.)

Overall, Aquinas students sitting NCEA and University Entrance last year eclipsed national and local pass rates.

And the results again confirm that boys do exceptionally well at Aquinas College. In each category, from Level 1 through to University Entrance, Aquinas boys vastly outperformed their peers — at both a local and national level. In fact, the margin of their national success is even greater than that of Aquinas girls!

We are incredibly proud, and congratulate each individual for their hard work and success! And hats off to our teachers for their commitment and support.
