It's another impressive finish for Y10 mountain bike rider Eliana Hulsebosch. She’s had a slew of podium finishes recently, most notably second in the Phoenix Enduro’s open women’s section where she went wheel-to-wheel with NZ’s elite riders.

Eliana beat Jenna Hastings, the current junior women’s downhill world champion, to finish second in the open section behind transgender athlete Kate Weatherly. Racing in the open section is a major step up for the Aquinas 15-year-old as it is usually for women aged 21 to 34 years. The Phenix Enduro was held in Christchurch in October.

Hot on the heels of this success, Eliana notched up two podium finishes at the recent Cranxworx Rotorua series. She placed first in the U17 female taniwha downhill race and second in the U17 dual slalom at Mt Ngongotahā last month. Fantastic results Eliana!
