Emma and NZ U15 Basketball Team Headed To FIBA Asian Champs
Aquinas basketball star Emma Rogers and her NZ U15 Women’s team has qualified for the FIBA U16 Asian Championships next year after a strong showing at the Oceania champs last month.
Emma and her NZ teammates finished second behind an undefeated Australia, placing them one step closer to qualifying for the 2024 U17 World Cup in Mexico. Only the top three finishers from Guam’s Oceania competition progress to the Asian championship, from which just eight teams will proceed to the World Cup.
The NZ U15 side played Guam, Samoa and Australia in the group phase to reach the finals of the Oceania champs. Incredible work Emma!
