Fun Connections at Peer Support Grand Finale

Aquinas College —

The Year 7 Peer Support programme finished with flying colours last week as our young ākonga and their Year 11 mentors celebrated with a grand finale of action-packed activities. The fun-filled finale firmly cemented the tukana-teina relationship between our newest students and their leaders.

The programme is a huge part of developing “belonging” with our new students and setting the culture of our college. They met weekly throughout Term 1 for activities and conversations to build bonds for the rest of their Aquinas journey.

The March 12 finale saw students rotate between ten activities including the ever-popular slip-n-slide, inflatable orbs, wet sponge fights and giant volleyball. It was a great vibe and wonderful to see fun, spirit and connection between our youngest students and their mentors. Ka mau te wehi!
