Action-Packed Week at Year 7 and 8 Sports Camps

Aquinas College —

Another first for Aquinas was our Year 7s and Year 8s attending an Intermediate Sports Camp at Totara Springs in Matamata — following in the footsteps of our Year 9 and 10s, who attended earlier in the term.

The week is ACTION packed from the moment the first activity takes place. What a blast!

Students participated in some "traditional" sports like football, netball, hockey and volleyball and mixed this up with cage soccer (yes, that's as hectic as it sounds!), human foosball, wall ball and various other athletic endeavours.

Students are fully immersed in various team and individual sports all day and have to run from one competition to the next.

From touch, tennis, scramball, wallball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, football, hockey, archery, bowls, darts, petanque, human foosball, netball, rugby, softball, mini golf, triathlon, swimming, athletics and the list goes on!

And at the end of the 12-hour days — there was the hot pool. Aaahh, lovely.

What an opportunity this camp was — to learn, develop skills and come together as an awesome AC Year 7 team. Aquinas took away a number of first placings, congratulations team!

An incredibly busy, yet fun-filled week with energetic students and parents. Thank you to the teachers and parents who volunteered their time to make this possible — we couldn't have done it without you! Here's to Sports Camp 2024!

Particular thanks to Kate Magill and Brendon & Tenielle McHugh for their fantastic photos!
