8 GATE Group Gets Tour of Sulphur Point Construction

Aquinas College —

Engineering, design thinking, problem-solving, and careers education all came together for students in this year's 8 GATE cohort when they visited the construction of new groynes and a wheelchair-accessible boat ramp at Sulphur Point.

Guided by HEB Construction Project Director Peter Hodgson (also the parent of Cora) and his team, students learned how the various elements of a project of this scale come together and the lengthy process involved in turning plans into reality for clients, stakeholders, and users. The trip took place in late May.

Aquinas College is most grateful to Peter and the team for arranging direct access to the construction site and for their expertise and time in providing this learning-enriched opportunity for our students.
