Students Embrace AC's Cultural Diversity
AC’s new-look International Day was a fantastic celebration of our school’s diverse culture and a triumph for the Year 13 students who organised it.
Regular classes were replaced by a whole day of activities from eight countries in AC’s cultural mosaic: India, South Korea, Japan, China, South Africa, the Philippines, Tonga and Samoa.
Year 13 students led each activity, including an Indian dance routine, origami, Tae Kwon Do demonstration, henna art, Samoan dancing, Holi (throwing of powder paint), badminton, origami and Tinikling - a traditional Philippine folk dance with bamboo poles. Students were dressed in international mufti and snacked on global cuisine from Food Trucks at lunchtime.
In all, it was a brilliant, vibing way for students to celebrate and embrace the cultures of our college. The Student Executive Cultural Committee organised the event. Well done.
