Congratulations to Year 13 students Daniel Evans and Kalarn Mark who took on NZ's top 21 student entrepreneurs at the Young Enterprise Scheme national finals on Tuesday and came away with a commendation for their use of technology.

The pair won the National Excellence Trophy for Smart Technology at Tuesday night's ceremony in Wellington. Earlier in the day, they pitched their business idea to a panel of judges. 

In September, the Business students won the Supreme Award at the Western BOP YES competition for their innovative MaiBand business which improves communication between patients and paramedics. MaiBand is a silicon wristband that utilises NFC technology to transfer critical medical information to paramedics’ tablet devices.
