Aquinas Climber Takes On World's Best

Aquinas College —

A huge round of applause for Aquinas climbing phenom Antony Death. The Y13 student is in Dallas, USA to compete in the 2022 Youth World Climbing Championships.

Antony will take part in the U18 Youth A speed discipline, in which climbers scramble up a 15m wall with a 5-degree overhang as fast as possible. For Antony, that takes just 8.5 seconds!!!

Antony and his Y11 brother Kieran are no strangers to the podium, having won numerous national climbing titles. Both have competed in Australia, but the World Youth champs will be Antony’s debut on a truly global stage.

More than 450 climbers are taking part. The talented brothers have also been selected to the NZ youth team to compete at the Noumea Nationals in October. Best of luck Antony!!
