Teen Competes At International Camp

Aquinas College —

Year 10’s Levi O’Hara won selection to this month's International Youth Camp - with Blue Light. While there he joined forces with teens from NZ, Scotland, Australia and America for a week of teambuilding, leadership exercises and Defence Force activities.

Levi and the group, aged between 15 and 17, competed in teams while completing Army and Navy drills, tours, obstacle courses, and leadership exercises with the NZ Defence Force. They stayed at the Devonport Naval Base in Auckland.

Levi won selection to the international event following his performance at the Blue Light-NZ Defence Force camp at Whenuapai in May. While there he made friends from other cultures, learned how to work as a team, and lived on a working Air Force base. He also earned Level 1 and 2 NCEA credits.

Levi is attending Blue Light’s Leadership Programme in November and plans on a career in the Air Force.

Blue Light offers a range of camps at Army and Air Force bases around NZ to empower teenagers and build self-confidence. For more information go to: https://bluelight.co.nz/our-programmes/
