Voci Celesti Wins Recognition at The Big Sing

Aquinas College —

Congratulations to Aquinas choir Voci Celesti which was commended for its performance at The Big Sing 2023.

Aquinas’ premier choir performed three pieces at the regional heat, held at the Holy Trinity Church last month.

The Aquinas choir was commended for its rendition of “The Day is Waiting to be Born” by David Hamilton, the “Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre and “Blue Skies” by Irving Berlin. (Watch the video of Voci Celesti performing "Blue Skies" below.)

The Big Sing is NZ’s long-running regional secondary school choral festival. It involves more than 8,000 students from more than 200 schools. Voci Celesti enjoyed spending the day with like-minded performers and choristers, sharing their love of singing.

The choir will next perform at the annual Aquinas College Performing Arts Night held at the Otumoetai Baptist Church on August 16. Admission is free.
