Congratulations to AC’s talented basketball siblings, Sophie and Emma Rogers, whose Tauranga City Coasters team finished second in the national Tupu League finals.

The new women’s league is for representative players aged 15 and upwards who are in between U20 rep teams and NZ’s professional Tauihi league. Sophie and Emma’s young Tauranga team also featured two of their cousins, making it a Rogers family affair.

So far, it’s been a successful season for Sophie (Yr 13). Her Tauranga women’s representative team placed second at the U20 Nationals in Canterbury last month. Cassie Ririnui, a 2023 AC alumna, was also in the team.
