Learning Lessons From Cook Island Language Week

Aquinas College —

Aquinas students had a pākau (awesome) time celebrating Cook Island culture, cuisine and language this month.

Our Cook Island Language Week kick-started with carving and coconut husking demonstrations from Master Carver Robbie Atatoa for our Pasifika and Y9 Technology students.

Students prepared a Cook Island-inspired shared lunch, and junior Food Tech students whipped up some chop suey. Our student-led Cultural Committee also organised activities throughout the week including language tasks and Kahoot! Mako rai! Well done! A fantastic experience of Cook Island culture.
