In January 2023, Ara Institute of Canterbury joins Te Pūkenga.

In 2023, Ara alongside 15 other ITPs (Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics) and ITOs (Industry Training Organisations), are combining forces to create a strong, cohesive, vocational education system for all of Aotearoa. We will make the learner our central focus, and we will do this together as a national team.

When Ara formally joins Te Pūkenga in January 2023, our local flavour and focus won’t change, but your opportunities to achieve your goals in life will become even greater thanks to the collective strength of the Te Pūkenga national network.
