DCC Grants

While the funding rounds for many of the DCC Grants have closed for the year, there are definitely things to think about and prepare for over the summer months. For most of the grants the submission timeframe is 4-29 March 2019 for projects starting after 1 June 2019.

DCC Arts Grants supports projects which contribute to the strategic themes of Ara Toi Ōtepoti – Our Creative Future: Dunedin's Arts and Culture Strategy (Ara Toi).

Professional Theatre Fund

This fund supports the creation, or presentation of high-quality new work from established artists or practitioners and arts organisations to develop professional theatre in Dunedin. Priority will be given to work by Dunedin artists or practitioners and arts organisations or collectives.

Creative Communities Grants

The Creative Communities Scheme Dunedin provides funding to communities so New Zealanders can be involved in creating and attending local arts activities.

Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature

UNESCO Cities of Literature Short Play Festival

This event will be hosted by the University of Otago in September as part of its 150th anniversary celebration and playwrights are invited to submit 20-minute plays, or 20-minute segments of longer plays, covering a wide range of themes for inclusion. Selected works will be staged by Otago Theatre Studies students during the Festival.

Arts Practitioners Fund

Support for experiential opportunities for individual New Zealand-based arts practitioners (including curators, managers, arts professionals) to deepen artistic and professional connections with Asia; up to $7500 available.

International Art Fair Fund   

Supporting New Zealand-based dealer galleries and craft/object designers and companies to participate in reputable international art fairs.

Toi Rangatahi Leadership Fund

This fund supports young people aged 15-25 to lead high quality arts projects by, with and for other young people with a focus on participation and/or access for young people from under represented communities. Up to $10,000.

Deadline: 1 March 2019

Toi Rangatahi Participation Fund

This fund supports artists/organisations to provide opportunities for young people aged 10-14 to participate in high-quality arts activities. It's aimed at developing creative potential, focusing on under-represented communities. Up to $65,000.

Toi Rangatahi Engagement Fund

This fund supports established organisations that want to provide opportunities for people aged 15-25 to engage in high-quality arts experiences with a focus on under-represented communities. Up to $65,000.

Suffrage 125 Fund

This fund celebrates 125 years of Suffrage. Projects must focus on women from diverse cultural backgrounds who have helped advance women's rights. Up to $20,000

Taki Rua Submissions 2019

Taki Rua are opening up our call for submissions of new works.

We’re looking for companies or practitioners who are seeking to partner with us in the development, potential staging and touring of an original New Zealand work.

To be eligible for production, your work must either be:

· A previously staged production which is looking for further presentation.

· A script or established concept for further development and potential staging.

· A performance concept requiring development looking towards future staging.

We’re looking for works that:

· Are interested in touring nationally.

· Advance te reo Māori or have kaupapa Māori frameworks.

· Are New Zealand stories.

· Include practitioners wanting to partner in presenting their work.

· Increase the diversity and quality of what Taki Rua offers.

· Are produced by New Zealand citizens or companies.

The deadline for submissions is 31 January 2019.
