In May the DCC Community Development and Events team appointed a voluntary regional representative to the New Zealand Events Association (NZEA).

The NZEA is an independent industry body which provides education and professional development to the events industry.

Since then, NZEA has run three professional development seminars in Dunedin: Risk Management for Events, Social Media Marketing and recently Strategic Management for Events.

DCC Events Special Projects Coordinator, Tammy Jackman, says, “The seminars provide an excellent opportunity for people to upskill, network, and stay informed in a competitive and fast paced environment.

“There is a cost for becoming a member of NZEA and attending seminars, however there are lots of benefits for an organisation to join as well.”
