Julie has a bright and bubbly personality with a zest and verve for life. She absolutely loves her family and says, being a Nan, is the best thing in the world. She has been involved in dance and Theatre since she was nine and performed in many different roles with the Val Deakin Dance Theatre for forty years. Her experiences in dance and theatre have influenced her teaching style.  Julie is a very experienced and conscientious teacher who loves to work with and alongside students, whanau and teaching staff. She has taught all age levels in many schools throughout Taranaki since 1984. She has at all times been passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students and their whanau. She believes an integrated and creative approach to teaching provides students with experiences that are so meaningful there is a desire to participate. 

In 2018 Julie was given the opportunity to join the Taranaki, Arahunga Outreach team, and in 2022 she's had the absolute privilege of opening an Arahunga School Class (Atawhai Manawa) at Ramanui School in Hawera.  Stimulating the heart and soul of our students is as, if not, more important, than academic achievement.
