Sailability

Whanganui City CollegeJune 28, 2022

Our learners based at Whanganui City College are very fortunate to have the opportunity to experience sailing as part of their programme.

Sailability is at Pauri Lake, just south of Whanganui.  We take part in this activity during the warmer months in Term 1 and 4.

We love Sailability!
Sailability is huge fun and is a highlight for us.
All set and ready to go

The boats are user friendly and there is a hoist available if needed.

The learning about the process of getting into the boats safely is an important part of sailing.

Sailability is a wonderful activity for all people of all abilities.

Sailability has very safe boats available for us to use.    We learn all about wearing safety jackets.

Learning to how to put on life jackets is important part of sailing.
All set and ready to go

Our learners get such a lot from taking to the water and enjoying the experience and surroundings whilst learning a new skill together.

Pushing off the jetty, ready to go.

Sailability has a fantastic team of volunteers who support our learners in a fun and safe environment.

The volunteers have almost as much fun as our learners.

They help each learner to achieve their sailing goals, or simply to get the therapeutic benefits of taking to the water.
