Greetings from the ARM! The weather is beginning to feel distinctly autumnal as evening temperatures drop a little. Time to think about planting my broad beans!
Vestry Visits: It's been an absolute joy to visit vestries in the last fortnight to share about the Diocesan Mission Action Plan and ways and means we can reach out with the good news of Jesus. I was at Amuri with Dawn Baldwin last week and Ellesmere with Margaret Neate this week. We really have some great lay leaders in our churches! Next week I visit the Vestries of St John's Woolston and Hornby-Templeton-West Melton.
Faith Questions with Bishop Peter: This weekly video that I make with Bishop Peter has had a makeover! Check it out here and give me your feedback. I'd love to share my newfound skills using the miracle software 'Canva' with anyone who wants to learn ;-).
Structures to Support Growth: I continue to work on the recommendations of the 'Structures to Support Growth' Commission established by Standing Committee. The recommendations will help us become better at participating in God's mission by making sure our Diocesan structures are fit for purpose, improving our administration and helping us to share our skills and knowledge across our Diocesan family.
Te Kotahitanga Forum: This is a national hui on the future of education and ministry training in the Anglican Church - I will be attending with Bishop Peter and others in May. I will be really pushing for funding from the St John's College Trust Board to go towards training for local mission, pioneering new initiatives and helping lay people to grow in knowledge and faith.
Coaching - Key Leadership Skill: Find information on this important one-day training seminar lead by coaching expert John Eatwell, on coaching later in this newsletter. It's on Friday 28 April from 9am - 5pm. Register here.
Grace and peace to you all,
Mark
