Equipping the Saints for Mission

A golden (free!) opportunity to complete a degree level course and be equipped to serve God and God's mission!

Why would this course interest me?

Many committed Christians will want to contribute to God's mission but may find it hard to talk about it or identify exactly what it is. You're invited to consider growing in your understanding of the Mission of God (Missio Dei) by signing up to a degree level course on this subject offered through Carey Baptist College. Imagine your growth in confidence and knowledge by the end of the course!

This really is an excellent course taught by distance by Emma Stokes (PhD candidate) and is absolutely free (amazing!) provided ten people sign up. I will coordinate the course and provide support to the group.

Where is the course held?

A condition of the course is that you will have to be physically present at the Anglican Centre, 95 Tuam St, for the weekly, 2 hour, Zoom session. Course material is delivered by Emma from Auckland on Zoom and we interact with her using the media facilities at the Anglican Centre. We will use a large, flat screen TV. I have been told that the technology used provides a responsive and highly effective distance learning experience.

Act quickly!

The deadline is looming so you must express your interest to me before Thursday 8 June! Please email me urgently on arm@anglicanlife.org.nz or phone 027 432 7474. Click here for more information on the 10-week course.

Course summary

The mission of God is the outworking of God’s gracious love to redeem and restore all of creation, ultimately revealed to us in the work of Christ. Astoundingly, it also includes an invitation to God’s people to participate in this ongoing work of reconciliation and renewal in the power of the Spirit. In this course, we explore the biblical story and trace God’s mission and the formation of God’s people in the narrative. We evaluate examples of how God’s mission has been, and is being interpreted and carried out, and consider what this means for our participation today.
