Year 7/8 Camp update - Day 2
Day 2 action ........
Day 2 update:
Today we split into two groups as we explored Ulva Island and went out to sea on a fishing charter.
For Ulva Island, we walked over to Golden Bay and took a water taxi across. We then ventured off on our self guided walking tour leaning all about the history story, conservation and nature. We were encouraged to stop, look and listen to our surroundings. We loved seeing and learning about the bird life. Tui, Bell birds, Kaka, Stewart Island Robins, Parakeets, sea lions and many more caught our eye. We very much enjoyed exploring the Island and would recommend to anyone visiting Stewart Island!
Both fishing trips were highly successful with reasonably calm sea and lots of opportunity for catching scrumptious blue cod. Harry and Matson took the record number of catches for the day.
We finished our action packed day by cooking our own one pot meal for dinner. Our chicken curry, nachos, tacos, mac and cheese and spaghetti bolognaise were a huge hit and a great way to finish our day. We will all sleep very well tonight!!
