Looking ahead to 2025!

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

The 2025 school year will start on Monday 3rd February 2025.  

The school office will be open from 

• Friday 31st January 2025 from 8.30am to 3.30pm for purchasing your child’s stationery.
  

To help our parents and whanau plan for the start of 2025 we are writing to advise you about the stationery requirements.

In the past parents/caregivers have been given the list of required stationery and then purchased it independently.  We have looked at many different ways to reduce the cost for you.  Through Officemax  we can bulk purchase classroom stationery requirements and pass the savings onto you.  By bulk purchasing, you would be paying cost price and not retail price.  This is the best way we can save you money.

If you wish to go out and purchase the requirements yourself, a stationery list can be collected from the school office in the last week of term, once class placements have been confirmed.

No late slips will be accepted as we need to order with Officemax.

Stationery packs will be available for your payment and collection at the office from Friday 31st January 2025.

Arthur Street School will once again not be asking for School Fee donations in 2025.  We have opted into the Government's Donation Scheme.  https://www.education.govt.nz/school/funding-and-financials/fees-charges-and-donations/

Our 2025 Teaching Staff

We have a couple of changes in our teaching staff for 2025. We will be farewelling Jess Mackintosh at the end of this year and wish her all the very best for her move to Christchurch. Also making a change for 2025 is Claire Simpson after 11years at Arthur Street School. All the very best to you and your family Claire.

Our teaching team for 2025 will made up of:

Sophie Henderson, Andrea Elvines, Brad Meads, Andrea Ussher, Naomi Hipgrave, Janine Cotton, Luchia Hermens, Ellen Worth, Alice Frame & Fran Hall. We also will be welcoming new to Arthur Street from 2025, Hannah Chisholm. Here is a brief introduction from Hannah;

Kia Ora,

My name is Hannah Chisholm and I am very excited to be joining the Arthur Street teaching staff for 2025.

I love the outdoors and can often be seen walking or biking the tracks around Dunedin. Other passions of mine are tending to my vegetable garden and reading a good book! 

I can not wait to meet you all!
