Ashburton College Cricket

Rotch Kay —

It was a busy weekend on the Domain as Ashburton College hosted Christchurch Boys' High School across two grades.

The 1st XI showed great discipline with the ball after winning the toss. Kinneir Lowe (2/22) and Toby Grant (2/37) led a consistent attack that dismantled the CBHS Development XI for 158. Unfortunately, the chase never quite gained traction. Despite a fighting 25 from Alexander Forbes, the side was dismissed for 75.

The Year 9 team provided the weekend's highlight with a dominant 7-wicket victory over the CBHS Weka side. Restricting the visitors to 142/7, the bowlers were spearheaded by Harry Ravenscroft (2/11) and a very tidy spell from Thomas Reid (1/3). The run chase was a masterclass in composure; Beau Kirwan (37 retired) and Harry Ravenscroft (27) set the platform, allowing William Morrison (24 n.o.) to see the team home at 143/3.

The 2nd XI enjoyed a weekend off with the bye.
