Year 12 Technology Metal
Year 12 Material Technology Metal have been building 49cc 2 stroke scooters. Pictured are the three proud students with their handywork. Each student had to fabricate a frame, bore out pockets for steering head bearings from steel and machine the various components for the front forks from aluminium. As well as make engine mount, brackets and set up the drive train. These scooters use wheels and engines imported from China and all other parts are made by the students. Hamish O'Reilly (center), Oliver and Fletcher Hobbs have been testing these over the last two weeks of school, tuning them and making a variety of modifications to improve reliability. All are very proud of their work, as we are.
