Aorakimath is a problem solving competition where teams of 4 try to answer 20 questions in 30 minutes.

The AshColl Year 9 C team finished in 1st place 🏆 against 27 other teams. The team was Luke Hay, Finn Brown, Steven Harris and Nic Dalgety. The team answered all 20 questions correctly with just under 10 minutes to go. The second place team only answered 19 questions correctly and took almost all the 30 minutes.

 AshColl Year 9 B (Ella Rickard, Melissa Wilson and Hector Diamante) were very narrowly beaten into 4th place with 17 questions correct. 

Our other AshColl Year 9 team (Lela Mangubat, Genevieve Felton, Sophie Kenny and Leigha Fletcher) finished very creditably in the middle of the field.

The Year 10 competition had 21 teams. Ashburton College (Andreea Ciora, Angela Ciora, Braden Luxton and Cedrick Orena) finished1st equal. They were forced into a three-way tie breaker against Timaru Boys and Roncalli. They finished in 2nd place🏅 with TBHS first and Roncalli third.
