It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome Tokorozawa Kita High School students from Japan to Ashburton College earlier this month. This year there were 21 girls and 9 boys. Students during their time in Ashburton went to Tinwald school and Rosebank Retirement Home, this wonderful opportunity for cross cultural learning. The group unfortunately could not get to Tekapo because of the weather but instead had an educational session at the Antarctic Center. We introduced them to chip butties, hokey pokey ice cream  and pineapple lumps! The Ashcoll students were extremely kind and ensured our guests were welcomed to our college 

We are grateful that all Tokorozawa students were warmly welcomed into local host families. We know that these students will leave Ashburton with lifelong memories.
