College Teacher of Japanese, Hiromi Horsley says this is exciting news. Ashburton College’s sister school Tokorozawa Kita High School’s group is visiting Ashburton College after a four-year Covid-enforced break.

We need some lovely host families for the students. The students want to learn English and about the New Zealand lifestyle.Host families don’t have to be able to speak good Japanese.  However, if you are brave enough, you can try!.

The group arrives in Ashburton on Thursday 27 July (in the afternoon, after school finishes)and they leave on Monday 07 August in the morning (an eleven night, twelve day stay).

One student will stay with each family (not two students to a family). The student can share a room with their host sister or brother.

This is a paid hosting situation. Host families are required to fill in a New Zealand Police Vetting Service Request and Consent Form.
