ASHDANCE 2021

Rotch Kay —

Ashdance 2021 hit the stage on the evening of Thursday April 8th, playing to an enthusiastic and full audience who were blown away by the quality and variety of the dancers.

The programme was rich and varied beginning with an energetic performance from the Year 12/13 Dance class to My Shot from the musical Hamilton, and culminating in a guest performance by Ashcoll's Polyfest group. The competition itself was hard fought and comprised of a number of dance genres from hip hop to lyrical and contemporary.Judges Kylie Backhouse-Smith and Justine Hanrahan had a tough decision process, but settled on Charlotte Livingstone as First Place in the Solo and the VIBE group, comprising Ian Jerao, John Magyaya, Hershal Ranay and Tielu Iakopo as First Place in the Group Dance. John Magyaya was also awarded the Top Performer of the Evening. Thanks go to our outstanding technical crew of Jared Munn and Kahu Ross, supported by Ron Cresswell and Claire Bubb, Kath Wakins for the programme, the Head Students for being MCs, Kylie Backhouse-Smith and Justine Hanrahan for judging and Jo and Hannah Wakelin and Gianne Butler for Front of House.
