EMERGENCY COVER PLAN BEGINS 10-6-2022

Rotch Kay —

It is with regret that, due to a renewed spike in sickness amongst staff, Ashburton College is rostering students home from Friday 10 June.

The rostering home is:

· Year 11 learning from home Friday 10 June

· Year 12 learning from home Monday 13 June

· Year 9 learning from home Tuesday 14 June

· Year 10 learning from home Wednesday 15 June

· Year 13 learning from home Thursday 16 June

Following this, rostering home will be reviewed every two days. This action has not been taken lightly and is in response to an acute staffing shortage.

Please note, students will have access to work to complete via Google Classrooms, or hard copy, for their scheduled days home. Keeping up to date is vitally important so students can attain the credits as NZQA have indicated they will not be offering learning recognition credits as they have done over the last 2 years.

External courses (e.g. Gateway, Ara, work placements etc) will still run as per usual even if it is a rostered day off. Senior students may be able to come on site and work with available staff if pre-arranged.

Parent, student, teacher interviews on Tuesday 14 June are going ahead as planned. Please be understanding if staff are unwell and unable to attend. An e-mail will be sent to you prior to interviews if this is the case. All staff will be wearing a mask (unless a mask exemption applies). Mask wearing for parents and students is strongly encouraged (a supply will be available at the door).

Burnside sports exchange scheduled for Tuesday 14 June will also go ahead as planned. Thank you to our support staff, parents and other external coaches/managers for making this event possible.

Kind regards

Ross Preece
